Humanity & Inclusion UK

Humanity & Inclusion (HI) was founded in 1982 by two Doctors who were appalled by the lack of care for Cambodian refugees who had lost limbs to landmines.

Today, HI works in 59 countries supporting disabled and vulnerable people in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. The organisation works tirelessly to help meet their basic needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.

HI teams provide vital emergency supplies, prosthetic limbs, physical therapy, and psychological support to the most vulnerable people affected by conflicts and natural disasters.

They also work to clear dangerous unexploded weapons and raise awareness of the risks, particularly among children. Globally, HI campaigns for the protection of civilians in conflict zones, focusing on the use of explosive weapons which indiscriminately kill and cause life-changing injuries.

HI also campaigns on key issues affecting people with disabilities and works alongside them to ensure their access to services and their inclusion in education, work and society.

Since HI was founded, it has changed the lives of tens of millions of disabled and vulnerable people worldwide.
